SYMPTOMS OF APPENDIX

Symptoms of Appendix: Let us see some of the common symptoms of appendix.Appendix is a worm like appendage which is small and attached to the colon. This appendicitis generally occurs when bacteria infect the wall of the appendix


Some of the symptoms of appendix during Appendicitis are as follows:


  1. Loss of appetite
  2. Nausea
  3. Vomiting
  4. Abdominal pain
  5. Fever
  6. Abdominal swelling
  7. Painful urination
  8. Diarrhea
  9. Chills
  10. Shaking
  11. Back pain
  12. Inability to pass gas
  13. Tenesmus (The feeling of constantly need to pass urine or stools or a bowel movement with relieve discomfort)
These are some of the symptoms of Appendix during Appendicitis.

You should consult to doctor or physician if :

  • If abdominal pain is severe
  • If there is pain along with fever
  • If blood is present during vomiting or during diarrhea
  • If there is pain in chest or neck.
  • If you are unable to pass stool especially during vomiting.
  • If you have nausea along with lack of appetite with pain
  • If yellowing of eyes or skin

Treatment of appendicitis:

  • Removal of appendix by the surgery is the standard treatment of appendicitis, this treatment is known as appendectomy.

Complication during appendicitis.

  1. Abscess
  2. Infection of the surgical wound
  3. Blockage of the intestine by appendicitis
  4. Fistula (Abnormal connections between abdominal organs or between these organs and the skin surface)
